To obtain a permit, residents and contractors are urged to email or call with the following information:Address where work is being performed
Name of contractor(s)
Estimated cost of the work being done
Brief description of the work
Phone number or email address
Upon receipt of the permit fee and all required documents, building permits may be issued electronically or mailed.
Both General Commercial Liability in the amount of $1,000,000, AND Worker's Compensation including Disability is required to issue a Permit. A state CE-200 may substitute for Worker's Compensation and Disability. A BP-1 for homeowner projects may substitute for both. Certificates of Insurance (ACORD form for liability and C-105.2 plus db-120.1 for Worker's Comp and Disability), showing the Town of Elmira as Certificate Holder, must be on file in this office before a Permit can be issued.
